Today, the first Sunday in May, is International Dawn Chorus Day. It is an international celebration of Nature’s symphony. From humble beginnings in Birmingham in the ’80s it has spread to include all four corners of the map.

As part of Karen’s show I was asked about Field Recording and International Dawn Chorus Day.

I piped up about the Sound Map I am creating on the web and I am keen to get volunteers to help with it – I just need someone to coordinate my enthusiasm.

I will embed the interview below – I got really excited and made a bit of a fool of myself at the start but I settled in to it and was stringing basic sentences together by the end of it; Huzzah! Damn thought disorder.

If you want to find out more about the Sound Map Of Harrogate, give it a quick Google. If you want to find out more about Karen’s show head to www.harrogatecommunityradio.online and search for Open Aspect – Karen is a natural ‘people’ person and it was easy opening up to her; it was fun!
