Highlands #13

I took these photos using a DSLR fitted with a homemade pinhole lens, a method that removes sharp focus and certainty and replaces them with blur, drift and extended exposure times.

Working this way slowed my walking and my looking, allowing wind, weather and duration to shape each image.

These photographs approach their subject matter as psychogeographically, as a space experienced through movement, attention and mood. The softened detail echoes memory rather than description, inviting the viewer to drift through the images as they might through the landscape itself, guided less by landmarks and more by atmosphere and sensation.

Highlands #13 is available as an unframed 10x10inch Glicée fine art print, limited to an edition of 10 copies. Printed on Hahnemühle Photo Rag Metallic, this pinhole photograph will last 85yrs+ in direct sunlight.
