Well the weekend had me in all sorts of flaps. It started off badly. I found out that the Event Promotor for the night I was due to DJ at had done a runner leaving all concerned in the lurch. I do not know where he is but I hope he is safe. This resulted in me DJing to the barman before they closed the bar early. Ho hum. It was quite a good set, plenty of TWO DOOR CINEMA CLUB & FOALS. However, the barman likes commercial house so I think it fell on deaf ears.

Feeling quite low – I appreciate this was not the ideal start to the weekend – I headed home at ten in the evening. After Kathryn had got her glad-rags on and I had a powerful cup of Yorkshire we headed out again towards the Blues Bar on Montpellier. We met up with our good friends Allan, Andi & Cathy and it were a right laugh. Me and Kathryn ended up heading to Rehab (inappropriately named bar on Parliament Street) until they kicked the regulars out at 4am. Because I help with the photos and DJ every now and then, we were allowed to finish our drinks leisurely before Sam the Ninja gave every one a Karate chop to speed up their drinking.

Nursing a sense that we may have over done it, we headed over to my parents for Saturday. Home cooked food with an ingenious twist: my Mum is Scottish and not the best of cooks – she puts baked beans in her Chilli Con Carne and uses Lamb mince. All in all Spicy-Lambs-Mince-With-Baked-Beans is not that bad. Thanks Mum!

Sunday saw an early start (hence going around the olds for Saturday eve) as we were heading down south for a very special event. It was my paternal Grandmother’s 90th Birthday. It was incredibly to see so many people I have not seen for years (one cousin I had not seen for 10 years) and meet some new faces.

I, however, was not the most nervous there for a change. To me seeing  Isabella (who I got to see for the first time – she is simply the cutest!) and catching up with the old ones got a bit on top of me and I spent a lot of time outside hiding.

I have missed the majority of Family life for the past 5 years due to a progressively worsening health condition. I am sorry if I have offended anyone by doing this – just big social situations and Schizophrenia do not mix well.

Kathryn, Allan & me went out for a pint on Sunday evening to round off the weekend.

It is weird how I could theoretically go to a night club with 1000’s of people and run around all naked, yet show me four or five relatives and I am a quivering wreck. I do not know what causes this.

Many happy returns, Grannie! A fantastic time was had by all.
