January is a tough month for many of us. The weather is cold and gloomy, and for freelancers, it’s also the time to submit tax returns and pay dues to the government. It’s no wonder that some people choose to participate in “Dry January” and give up alcohol for the month. But is January really the best time to give up the consolations of Bacchus?
I argue that January is the time when we need the comfort of wine and beer the most. I suggest that instead of giving up alcohol in January, we should resolve to drink more than normal to help cope with the dreary month.
